Scripps Media Inc. is Hiring a Studio Tech III, KRIS Near Corpus Christi, TX

The E.W. Scripps Company is hiring for a Studio Tech III at KRIS. They will operate the graphics generating equipment and still stores to generate text and characters on the screen and other graphics effects that create appropriate look and feel for the program. Maintain graphic and label standards set for the station. WHAT YOU'LL DO: Operate graphics generating equipment and software for complex newscasts and local programs; produce stripe or ticker at the bottom of the screen and credit rolls; create graphic montages and other graphics effects; maintain graphic, font and labeling standards Assist with visual effects on various commercial, promotional and programming productions in studio; work closely with local programming, news producers and production directors to ensure the desired on-air look and feel is attained. Work in all areas of TV production, including camera operation, video playback, and teleprompter, set up and lighting adjustment, construct and dismantle sets. Assist technical director with trouble-shooting technical problems and effectively resolve issues as they occur. Administrative duties: Copying, Filling out forms, and explaining procedures tor policies to others. Other duties as assigned. WHAT YOU'LL BRING: Associates degree in related discipline or equivalent years of experience preferred Specialized training/certification may be required Generally, 5 years of experience in related field preferred WHAT YOU'LL NEED: Working knowledge of television station production equipment. Examples include: Graphics systems, video switchers, audio boards, studio cameras, teleprompters and lighting Demonstrated knowledge of floor operations Must be familiar with all aspects of graphics systems operations Must have good working knowledge of computers Must be able to handle multiple priorities under extreme time constraints with poise and skill Flexible work hours required including holidays, weekends, evenings and possible overtime hours Knowledge of proper grammar and spelling Must have excellent communication skills Must be a team player Must be an avid learner who quickly applies training, new techniques and independent judgment Ability to handle multiple operations and priorities under extreme constraints with professionalism and skill ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. #LI-SM2 #LI-Onsite If you are a current Scripps employee, please do not apply on this site.
