Role Description: A fleet operator is responsible for vehicle deployment, maintenance, and retrieval. This role requires driving throughout the city and transporting vehicles based on various criteria (e.g., charge, physical damage, and location). The primary aim of this role is to organize and coordinate resources, to maximize vehicle availability and revenue.
Primary Duties: Duties include (1) vehicle deployment, maintenance, and retrieval, (2) rebalancing equipment over a certain battery percentage, or located in low foot traffic areas, (3) removing dead batteries from equipment, and replacing them with fully charged batteries, (4) visually inspecting equipment to ensure compliance with safety regulations, (5) transporting dead batteries and damaged equipment to the office at the end of each shift, and (6) reporting total work output per shift, and (7) maintaining key performance indicators.
Education: High school diploma is required
Experience: Prior fleet management, ride-share, or delivery-driver experience is required
Qualifications
- Is 18 years old
- Has a valid driver's license and auto insurance coverage
- Has a reliable vehicle (e.g., a truck, van, or SUV)
- Has a working phone with active cellular service and a data plan (IOS is preferred)
- Has relevant experience as a fleet manager (e.g., Bird, Lime, Spin, or Jump), ride-share driver (e.g., Uber or Lyft), or delivery driver (e.g., DoorDash or InstaCart)
- Is familiar and comfortable using mobile applications
- Has a strong work ethic, and is reliable, punctual, and candid
- Is able to work independently, think critically, and effectively communicate
- Is able to lift 60 pounds
- Preference will be given to those that live within the perimeter
Screening Criteria
- All new hires must have a valid driver's license and auto insurance coverage
Required Training
- Up to one week of general (paid) training is mandatory
