ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: other duties may be assigned.

• Team Leadership : Lead the Automation Technicians Team, ensuring the effective and efficient operation of automated systems within the food production plant. Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement within the team and throughout the facility.
• Task Coordination : Coordinate and prioritize tasks, guaranteeing the timely completion of installation, maintenance, and repair activities.
• Cross-functional Collaboration : Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Production, Engineering, and Quality Assurance, to optimize automation processes and enhance overall efficiency.
• Project Management : Take charge of engineering projects at Daily's Premium Meats from conception to completion, defining project goals, developing plans, and effectively allocating resources.
• Preventive Maintenance Programs : Develop and implement Preventive Maintenance Programs to maximize system uptime and minimize disruptions to production.
• Safety and Quality Compliance : Conduct regular inspections and audits, ensuring strict compliance with Safety and Quality Standards.
• Troubleshooting Expertise : Utilize your expertise in electrical, mechanical, and software components to troubleshoot and diagnose complex issues in automated systems.
• Technical Guidance : Provide technical guidance and training to technicians, ensuring proficiency in operating and maintaining automation equipment.
• Performance Monitoring and Analysis : Monitor system performance, analyze data, identify trends, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Innovation and Upgrades : Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in automation technology, recommending and implementing upgrades or modifications.
• Documentation : Maintain accurate documentation, including equipment manuals, maintenance logs, and standard operating procedures.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Basic hydraulics, pneumatics and ammonia, refrigeration experience preferred. In-depth knowledge of automation systems, including Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs), and Industrial Control Systems required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in Automation, Electrical Engineering, or related field are preferred. Relevant certifications and advanced training are preferred. Minimum five years of experience in an industrial maintenance capacity. Food or Medical plant experience is preferred, as well as knowledge of and compliance with GMP, and food manufacturing best practices. Leadership experience preferred.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures. Strong organizational and time management abilities, with the capacity to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations preferred. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Mandatory ability to speak, understand, read, and write in English. Having bilingual skills preferred.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to use computer and all standard programs used by the industry and the ability to learn and effective use all other computer programs that are or will be made available.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to move about the facility. The employee is occasionally required to sit, use hand to finger coordination; handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet, cold, and/or humid conditions. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE: Able to work extended schedules including weekends and overtime.
