Seaboard Triumph Foods is Hiring a Food Safety Reg Specialist B Near Sioux, IA

The Food Safety Regulatory Specialist is responsible for understanding and implementation of the company’s HACCP programs/procedures and any other HACCP supporting programs/procedures or activities. This can and will include observation of HACCP monitors and verifiers performing HACCP checks.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to the following: (other duties may be assigned)
  • Maintain accurate records to assure consistency of product quality, compliance to regulatory agency requirements and documentation of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) process.
  • Must be able to learn all areas of the HACCP Department.
  • Proactively verify and validate documentation of current food safety programs related to all aspects of the facility Food Safety/Regulatory Compliance programs such as Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP), Animal Welfare Program, Sanitation Standard Operation Procedures (SSOP’s), and Sanitation Performance Standards (SPS).
  • Maintain an excellent understanding of new and current federal, state and local regulations that affect food safety requirements associated with manufacturing, processing and packing, distribution etc., (HACCP, SSOPs, GMP’s).
  • Review and scrutinize all aspects of the food safety and quality assurance systems. Ensure the USDA regulatory requirements are met.
  • Assist in the overall accountability of ensuring the food safety and humane handling system documentation are properly written, documented, and posted to ensure regulatory and customer compliance and the production of high quality, safe and wholesome product.
  • Assist in plant auditing procedures both internally and from third party associates.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: A high school diploma or GED is required. A two year or higher college degree is preferred. One or more years’ experience in meat processing, or closely related industry is preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents in the English language such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information before groups of customers or employees of the organization. Bilingual skills in Spanish preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely works near moving mechanical parts and is exposed to wet, cold and/or humid conditions.
The noise level in the work environment is usually at a level where OSHA required hearing protection is required.
NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE: The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management. Must be available to work A or B shift when need or as assigned.
