Job Overview: The Commercial Director is pivotal in co-owning the cluster P&L and driving the commercial and growth strategy of our client, a global materials solutions company. This role is critical in managing sales, marketing activities, and overall commercial operations within the designated cluster, ensuring profitable growth and alignment with the company's strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Leadership : Co-own the P&L for both goods sold within and produced in the cluster. Develop and implement commercial strategies and marketing plans.
  • Team Management : Lead and develop the cluster commercial team, enhancing their effectiveness and ensuring strategic goals are met.
  • Commercial Excellence : Implement and drive commercial excellence initiatives, ensuring alignment with the company's standards and processes.
  • Change Management : Lead change initiatives, collaborating with operational teams to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Performance Management : Develop KPIs and metrics to assess the effectiveness of commercial activities and report these insights to senior management.
  • Relationship Management : Establish and maintain productive relationships with key stakeholders, including internal teams and external partners.
Requirements include:
  • Education : Bachelor's degree in Economics, Marketing, or Business; Master's preferred.
  • Experience : Extensive experience in commercial leadership within the industrial minerals industry or a related field.
  • Skills : Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and excellent communication skills.
  • Certifications : Professional certifications in sales or marketing would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge : Deep understanding of the cluster's product portfolio, market dynamics, customer needs, and local legislation impacts.
  • Key Competencies : Proven ability in people management, change management, financial acumen, and commercial strategy development.
