Responsibilities:
- Greet and room patients, take vital signs, and record patient information
- Assist healthcare professionals with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments
- Administer medications and manage prescriptions as per physician orders
- Collect and prepare laboratory specimens for testing
- Assist with minor surgical procedures and wound care
- Perform basic laboratory tests, such as urine dipsticks and rapid strep tests
- Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of examination rooms and medical equipment
- Manage patient flow and appointment scheduling
- Handle medical records, including charting and documentation
- Provide patient education and follow-up instructions
- Assist with insurance verification and billing
- Maintain inventory of medical supplies and order as needed
- Adhere to infection control and safety protocols
- Perform other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a recognized Medical Assistant program
- Current certification as a Medical Assistant
- Prior experience working as a Medical Assistant preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Detail-oriented and strong attention to accuracy
- Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems
