Description: The Radiology Technologist is responsible for performing radiography (x-ray) examinations on patients while adhering to radiation safety protocols. They work in a variety of healthcare settings, including hospitals, imaging centers, and physician offices. In this role, the Radiology Technologist operates x-ray equipment to produce diagnostic images of the body. They work closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and high-quality images. Additionally, they are responsible for preparing and positioning patients for imaging procedures, explaining the procedure to patients, and answering any questions or concerns they may have. The Radiology Technologist also maintains and calibrates the x-ray equipment, and keeps accurate records of patient procedures and equipment maintenance. They follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area. The minimum qualifications for this position include graduating from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology and holding relevant certifications in Basic or Advanced Life Support and Radiology. Requirements
Education: Graduation from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology
Licenses/Certifications:
Radiology License
Certification in Basic or Advanced Life Support (BLS/ALS), required
Registered Radiology Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-R), required
Experience: Previous experience as a Radiology Technologist preferred
Technical Skills: Proficient in operating x-ray equipment and using radiologic imaging software
Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to effectively communicate with patients and healthcare professionals
Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail, ensuring accurate positioning of patients and capturing high-quality images
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and maneuver patients with assistance to perform job functions effectively
