We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist with a focus on ICU in Plano, TX at a Level II Trauma facility. In this role, you will provide specialized respiratory care to critically ill patients in our intensive care unit.
Responsibilities:

• Assess patients' respiratory and cardiopulmonary conditions in the ICU
• Administer complex respiratory therapies and treatments
• Monitor patients' vital signs and make appropriate adjustments to therapy as needed
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
• Insert and manage artificial airways
• Perform and interpret pulmonary function tests and arterial blood gas analyses
• Educate patients and their families on respiratory care techniques and disease management
• Document all patient interactions and treatments accurately and thoroughly
• Respond to emergency situations and provide life support as necessary

Requirements

• Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field
• Current state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist
• Certification by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist in an ICU setting
• Excellent knowledge of respiratory care techniques and equipment
• Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-stress environment
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
• Detail-oriented with excellent documentation skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
