Seattle Childrens Hospital is Hiring a Patient Access Coordinator I Near Seattle, WA

The role of the Patient Access Coordinator is an essential part of the patient's pre-visit experience. The primary function of this role is to collect accurate patient information, coordinate patient encounters and provide patient support services to ensure that each patient and family encounter is positive, professional, and efficient.
The Patient Access Coordinator I supports these foundational patient and family access duties. This role delivers excellent customer service, meets productivity and quality standards, and complies with Patient Access Coordinator standard work in their assigned domain while demonstrating values based behaviors and actively representing Patient Access within the organization.
Duties may include: registering patients and scheduling appointments in Cadence and/or OpTime, coordinating care with other services and minimizing access delays, processing incoming referrals, triaging patient telephone calls to appropriate resources, sending MyChart invitations, collecting and/or updating demographic and financial information for optimal reimbursement, checking in patients, collecting copays and outstanding balances, informing of and collecting signed consent for care, maintaining standards for infection prevention, participating in strategic initiatives and hospital goal work, and effectively communicating with patients/families.


Required Education and Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of two (2) years customer service and/or administrative support experience, and/or healthcare experience with/without scheduling and registration experience.
Required Credentials
Must complete Epic Training and obtain a passing score on EUPA test within two (2) weeks of start date
Preferred
Associate’s Degree or at least two (2) years of college coursework in health care or related field.
Minimum of three (3) years experience working in a health care setting or related field.
Significant experience working with the general public in a health care/customer service environment.
Familiarity with other cultures/bilingual skills.

Compensation Range

$21.94 - $32.90 per hour

Salary Information

This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.
