The PositionWe are seeking to fill a Career Coachposition.We are looking for someone to recruit, assess, coach, and strategize with residents to prepare them for education and employment. For additional information on the job, please see the full posting

The ideal candidate has: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, business, or a related field
    1. May substitute an additional four years of relevant work experience for the required degree
  • At least two years of experience in vocational and/or educational counseling, social work, human services, or case management
  • Valid Washington state driver’s license with an insurable driving record

What will you do?

  • Demonstrate cultural competency and sensitivity to the needs of adults with multiple challenges while working respectfully with residents, other SHA staff, and the public
  • Clearly communicate the purpose and benefits of the Adult Employment program and support participants in their education and employment paths
  • Conduct initial intake and assessment of housing participants’ needs
  • Prepare individual development plans with established educational and employment goals
  • Facilitate the development of strategies to meet established educational and employment goals
  • Follow up with providers to whom referrals have been made or that have made a commitment of resources to participants
  • Provide one-on-one career and job coaching, referral, and job placement services
  • Maintain case records to track, measure, and report participant outcomes
