Department of Student Services and under the supervision of the Coordinator of Diagnostic Support Services and working in coordination with building principals and other staff; provides diagnostic and consultative psychological services in accordance with Board policy and standards set by professional psychological organizations.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to:
Communicate effectively in speech and writing; establish and maintain relationships with students, parents, staff, and the public in a multicultural community; prepare diagnostic, planning, statistical, and other reports; work as a member of a team.
EDUCATION:
B.A/B.S. degree in psychology plus completion of all requirements for a master's degree, of an approved program (except special examinations, projects or thesis) with a major or specialization in school psychology.
LENGTH AND TYPE OF EXPERIENCE:
Completion of a practicum or internship under supervision in an educational setting.
PREFERRED:
Three (3) years professional psychological experience providing services to children and youth; National Certified School Psychologist certificate; experience working with students with limited English proficiency and multicultural, global and interdisciplinary education; teaching experience; knowledge pf public school operations; valid Washington State driver's license.
LICENSE:
Valid Washington State ESA School Psychologist Certificate Knowledge of:
State and Federal laws in assigned area.
