What You Get To DoThis role is a project-based production supervisor role with duties that oversee the installation, rehearsal, and operation of assigned Entertainment venue/area, including the daily supervision and development of the cast and crew. This role will maintain ongoing and overall safety/quality of shows and events as well as being responsible for the daily operation, maintenance, and show integrity of specific show product and their venues. Also, as a key role in the pre-production phase of projects, this position requires general knowledge of various theatrical disciplines, refined logistical and scheduling abilities, and exceptional time and project management skills.
  • Oversee the maintenance, installation, testing and final approval/sign offs of all rigging equipment/apparatus used in conjunction with the various park show products as mandated by SEA rigging guidelines.
  • Evaluates and modifies department processes based on changing business conditions.
  • Creates labor and expense budgets including budget forecasting; accountable for assigned budgets.
  • Oversees written evaluations and the annual performance appraisal of team members; produces and maintains accurate documentation.
  • Responsible for requisition and hiring process of team members within an assigned work groups.
  • Maintains, upholds and respects all team member confidentiality and leadership issues.
  • Supervises staff in maintaining focus on department goals.
  • Supervises staff scheduling process.
  • Supervises the mentoring and training of direct reports to sustain daily operations; supervises training and development of new and existing team members
  • Responsible for oversight of all installations and maintenance of specific show related elements, park attractions and other projects as assigned
  • Supervises process for equipment inventory and purchases of spare parts. Purchases per project requirements.
  • Creates and supervises the implementation of equipment maintenance schedules.
  • Assists with on-site coordination of vendors.
  • Assesses quality of our product in order to maintain high standards expected by park guests.
  • Troubleshoots effectively to attain positive outcome; responds to park trouble calls as required.
  • Maintains safe work environment and safety requirements; proficient and safe utilization of tools related to their technical field and assigned work group; ensures employees receive all required safety training.
  • Delegates appropriately.
  • Serves as department duty person as required.
  • Assists with overseeing and administers safety programs for Entertainment.
  • Conducts training for the Entertainment Department staff in OSHA and Company required safety training programs.
  • Creates and maintains safety related reports, forms, plans and databases for internal and external customers.
  • Creates and maintains maintenance and inspections logs for safety equipment in work areas Inspects and assess work areas for safety.
  • Handles and disposes of hazardous waste as needed.
  • Maintains chemical inventory.
  • Ability to read theatrical lighting plots and paperwork including channel hookups, instrument schedules, and focus charts.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with Ambassadors, Vendors and our Guests
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Occasionally assist other locations and areas in the park as needed.

What It Takes To Succeed
  • A High School diploma or equivalent. Preferred - Associates degree or greater in the Theatrical Arts, vocational training or applicable industry technical trade school training
  • Minimum one (1) year theme park experience preferred.
  • Minimum one (1) year production experience in media which may include theater, television, radio, motion pictures, dance, recording studio or visual arts.
  • Two or more years' experience in Leadership role in a related theatrical field including theatrical lighting, special effects or theatrical rigging preferred.
  • Special Event/Stage Manager/Project Management experience preferred.
  • Experience in human flight/aerial rigging and inspection of such apparatus preferred.
  • Must consistently strive for customer satisfaction through effective communication, quality of output, and timely project completion.
  • Must possess soldering skills
  • A proficient knowledge of electrical theory and applied hands-on experience in component level troubleshooting.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot down to component level in the following areas: dimmers, moving lights, special effects.
  • Must be proficient with the following test equipment; Digital Multi Meter, Cable tracer, clamp on meter.
  • Must be highly motivated and a self-starter.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team and work well with others with strong organizational & time management skills.
  • Strong computer skills with an emphasis in Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Working knowledge of the English language with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time in extreme weather conditions. *Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, which includes weekdays, weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • Ability to multitask while maintaining a positive attitude to ensure excellent guest service.
  • Comfortable climbing onto platforms and catwalks to perform venue inspections/maintenance checks.
  • Ability to work as a team player, communicate and resource with internal and external ambassadors.
  • Consistently practices safe work habits including, but not limited to the use of personal protective equipment, lifting, and reporting of unsafe situations
  • Willingness to comply with and ensure ambassadors comply with all SEA grooming guidelines and employment standards.
  • Ability to successfully complete all legal, company and department training requirements to include but not limited to passing required tests and certifications within established timelines.
  • Strong leadership skills highly desired
Compensation: 23.00 USD Hourly
