Position Overview:

One of my top clients is seeking a skilled and motivated PJM Power Trader to join their trading desk. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing trades, managing positions, and optimizing profitability within the PJM market. This role offers an exciting opportunity to leverage market insights, analytical skills, and strategic thinking to navigate the complexities of the energy market and drive profitable outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute trades in the PJM power market, including day-ahead, real-time, and forward contracts, to optimize trading strategies and maximize profitability
• Monitor market trends, analyze fundamental and technical data, and identify trading opportunities to capitalize on market inefficiencies
• Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate market exposure and ensure compliance with trading limits and regulations
• Stay abreast of market developments, regulatory changes, and industry trends to adapt trading strategies and capitalize on emerging opportunities

Qualification

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CFA, FRM) is a plus
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in power trading, preferably within the PJM market. Experience with other energy markets is also valuable.
• Strong understanding of power market fundamentals, including supply-demand dynamics, transmission constraints, and pricing mechanisms
• Proven track record of successful trading performance, with a focus on risk management and profitability
• Proficiency in utilizing trading platforms, analytical tools, and programming languages (e.g., Python, R) for quantitative analysis and modeling preferred but not required
