Selby Jennings is working with a Minneapolis, MN based private equity firm that is seeking an Associate addition with flexibility for a 2024 or 2025 start. This firm invests in middle market businesses across a variety of sectors such as business services, industrials, manufacturing, distribution, healthcare and consumer. Transaction types they focus on include management buyouts, minority growth equity, corporate divestitures, and recapitalizations. They are in market for their next fund which should be fully raised by the time a new Associate steps in to their deal team.

Responsibilities:

• Review and analysis of investment opportunities
• Industry and private company research
• Drafting and presenting investment memorandums
• Due diligence
• Financial modeling and analysis
• Portfolio company monitoring and management
• Participation in the sale process for existing portfolio companies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
• 2 years of Investment Banking, Consulting, or Transaction Advisory Services experience.
• Demonstrated competency in financial statement analysis, business valuation, finance and accounting
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to quickly and accurately analyze financial information and make sound investment recommendations
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with a variety of stakeholders
