Selby Jennings is working with a 3 billion AUM lower middle-market LP Private Equity firm based out of Austin, Texas that is looking to bring on a Real Estate Associate to their team. The Associate will support the firm's investment process through underwriting investments, conducting due diligence, performing market research, negotiating deal structures, creating and presenting investment memoranda, assisting in the fundraising process, communicating with external partners, monitoring and analyzing investments, managing investors, and assisting in strategic projects.

Qualification

• Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field of study
• 3 years previous work experience in private equity real estate, real estate lending, asset management, acquisitions, or development
• Advanced experience constructing financial models in Microsoft Excel
• Must be able to work on-site in the Austin, TX office Monday - Friday

Functions

• Perform financial analysis of acquisition and development investment opportunities spanning a variety of real estate asset classes using Excel. This includes historical cash flow analysis, the creation of monthly and annual pro formas, waterfall structuring, and analysis of return and project sensitivities.
• Manage the due diligence process associated with new real estate investment opportunities including the verification of underwriting assumptions and the study of market trends and data with the assistance of multiple analysts.
• Prepare investment materials for existing and new investments (executive summaries, full 506(b) Private Placement Memorandum, PowerPoint presentations, quarterly reports, portfolio analyses, etc.).
• Maintain frequent communication with management/executive team on execution of business plans such as capital event scenario analysis, review of operating partner performance, etc.
