The Director of Infrastructure oversees all aspects of the infrastructure department, and is responsible for designing, implementing, monitoring, and maintaining the information technology infrastructure, including physical data center and networking space, physical and virtual servers, Storage and SAN infrastructure, networking components and routing, Active Directory and Group Policy, and other activities related to enterprise-class infrastructure architecture. This role must effectively manage a growing team, and will lead the team in supporting the company through a wide range of projects and communicating with people from other departments.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• This position has direct supervisory responsibilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Drives the infrastructure team in building systems to support the whole company.
• Manages Infrastructure team, providing performance reviews and guidance, routine checkpoints on project progress
• Ensures appropriate network and server monitoring and security systems and alerts are implemented and current
• Designs, implements, and tests infrastructure Disaster Recovery topology and protocols for Tier I critical business components
• Documents and maintains network and infrastructure physical and logical diagrams
• Drives and coordinates incident management for infrastructure-related issues
• Communicates effectively and efficiently with business lines and vendor partners regarding infrastructure support and analyses
• Develops, recommends, and implements new or updated technologies and procedures to ensure streamlined, secure, and scalable systems
• Provides 24/7 on call infrastructure support
• Lead by example and demonstrate high performance in the areas of customer service, collaboration, teamwork, reliability, productivity, and execution

• Must be able to lift heavy objects such as server, routers, and switches
• Extensive experience in at least one Infrastructure Technology (e.g., Network, Security, Compute, Storage, Backup, Database, etc.) is required.
• Microsoft Active Directory and Domain Services
• VMware and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI)
• Windows and Linux Operating Systems
• Familiarity with High Availability Configurations
• Network Design and Analysis
• Telecom Design and Implementation
• Data Center Architecture and Build-out
• Virtual Private Networking (VPN)

Education and Experience: 

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with specialization in an information technology field (e.g., Computer/Management Information Systems (MIS/CIS), Computer Science (CS), Electrical/Computer Engineering (EE/CE), or an equivalent combination of related education and work experience
• 10 or more years of relevant and progressive experience directly related to network and server architecture implementation and management across LAN/WAN, Wireless, ISP, Data Center, SAN, Load Balancing, Clustering, Virtualization, Hybrid Cloud, Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery technologies
• 8 or more years of progressive management experience in the IT field required

Certificates/Licenses/Registration

• Professional technical certifications preferred, but not required

Financial Responsibilities (budget revenue)

• This position has budget responsibility, authority and/or level of control.

Physical Requirements:

• Work is performed indoors with potential for exposure to safety and health hazards related to office work. Could periodically travel to other office and operational sites. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
