Description
Job Summary: Join us as an Operations Supervisor at the Intercontinental Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles! Assist the Operations Manager in overseeing and coordinating all activities related to the valet operation. Ensure smooth and efficient operations while maintaining the highest standards of service and guest satisfaction. The ideal candidate will demonstrate leadership, organization, and a commitment to excellence.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Guest Interaction:
    • Greet guests courteously and assist them in and out of their vehicles.
    • Ensure customers receive timely service and address their needs promptly.
    • Provide information about hotel services, points of interest, and local attractions.
  2. Vehicle Handling:
    • Drive, park, and retrieve customer vehicles in a safe and professional manner.
    • Quickly distinguish vehicle makes and models; have a general knowledge of vehicle operations.
    • Maintain full compliance with standard operating procedures, ensuring the safety and security of vehicles and keys at all times.
  3. Operational Coordination:
    • Assist with training and coaching an excellent valet team.
    • Ensure daily staffing needs are covered and manage shift schedules.
    • Implement a successful staging plan for current traffic conditions to ensure maximum parking capacity.
    • Responsible for driveway and traffic activity.
    • Ensure work area, including parking lot and driveway, are clean and free of debris and obstructions.
    • Perform shift closing paperwork accurately.
  4. Team Collaboration:
    • Work closely with the front desk, bell staff, and other departments to ensure seamless guest arrivals and departures.
    • Communicate effectively with colleagues to coordinate valet operations and special events.
    • Support team members during busy periods and lead by example.
    • Substitute for any position if necessary.
  5. Safety and Security:
    • Enforce all safety protocols and guidelines.
    • Report any accidents, injuries, or incidents to the Operations Manager immediately.
    • Perform routine inspections of the valet area and equipment to ensure safety and functionality.
    • Observe safety and security procedures and report potentially unsafe conditions.

  • Assist the Operations Manager in monitoring employee productivity and providing constructive feedback.
  • Inspire and motivate team members to perform well.
  • Contribute to building a positive team spirit and promote a harassment-free environment.
  • Maintain high levels of integrity, ethics, and respect for cultural differences.

  • Manage difficult or emotional customer situations with composure.
  • Respond promptly to customer needs and speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations.

  • Make oneself available to staff and improve processes, products, and services.

  • Follow policies and procedures and work with integrity and ethically.
  • Exhibit sound and accurate judgment and react well under pressure.
  • Follow instructions, respond to management direction, and observe safety and security procedures.
Self Management:
  • Consistently be at work and on time.
  • Work quickly and respond to management direction.
  • Observe safety and security procedures and report potentially unsafe conditions.
Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Previous supervisory experience in a luxury hotel or high-end customer service role preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong leadership and organizational abilities.
  • Basic English reading, writing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and meet physical requirements (lift/push/pull up to 20 pounds, carry up to 10 pounds).
  • Flexible schedule based on business needs.
  • Successfully pass a background and driving record check.
