Seminole County Board of County Commissioners is Hiring a Certified Welder/Fabricator Near Sanford, FL
Technical, specialized skilled work involving the repair, welding, fabrication of all County owned equipment. Note: These are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work performed. The omission of specific duties does not exclude them from the position.
Utilizes technical drawings, blueprints or other specifications to construct/repair metal products, as well as a number of repairs ranging from small to large detailed refurbishes.
Responsible for aligning, fitting, welding, measuring, laying out and inspecting parts, marking cutting lines, studying specifications, gathering materials and operating machinery.
Ability to weld components in either flat, vertical, or overhead positions. Experienced with various metal composition (Aluminum/galvanized, carbon, etc.). Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.
Tests and inspects welded surfaces and structures looking for deficiencies and imperfections. Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.

Performs duties as assigned/necessary which are related, or logical in assignment to the position.
In the event of an emergency, all employees are considered essential personnel and may be required to perform alternate duties.
High School Diploma and/or GED and two (2) years' experience required.
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver's License
Thorough knowledge of welding techniques, metallurgy and the ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints or other specifications to construct and repair various metal products.
Must be proficient in the use of hand/shop tools as well as the various methods of electric and gas welders, plasma cutters, iron-worker, cutting torches.
This position is required to participate in On-Call rotation and may be required to work after normal business hours according to applicable County policy i.e.: Call Out or Emergency-Disaster.
All employees must attend Seminole County required training. Department specific training per position may be required.
