Sempra Infrastructure is Hiring a Lead Pipeline Technician Near Sulphur, LA
Primary PurposeResponsible for leading, planning, coordinating, and completing operations and maintenance tasks/projects related to pipeline, corrosion, and related equipment on a pipeline system/compressor/storage facilities. This position requires the incumbent to work independently with minimal supervision, work other than normal work hours, respond to call-outs, and may be subject as a back-up to shift assignments. Duties And Responsibilities
Perform periodic inspections and routine maintenance on the pipeline system and complete maintenance records, service reports, and other required documents.
Plans, schedules and performs pipeline cathodic protection inspections.
Troubleshoots measurement and corrosion problems.
Plans projects and tasks; and ensures effective implementation according to operational objectives and management direction in order to meet all compliance dates and deadlines.
Responds to pipeline one calls and locates
Coordinates with vendors, contractors, encroachers, etc.
Prepare various ad-hoc reports including providing data for regulatory reporting.
Trains, leads and provides guidance to other field O&M employees, both on technical and company administrative and operating policies and procedures. Makes decisions in the absence of the manager. Ensures O&M responsibilities are performed according to established policies and practices.
Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).

Technical/Vocational - Typically requires a technician’s or industrial degree or certification Preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Required
Experience
5 to 7 years of related experience, including experience in the maintenance of cathodic protection systems, pigging systems, high pressure pipeline systems, valves, and pipping operations. Required
Skills And Abilities
Must act in accordance with environmental and safety guidelines and procedures and encourages others to do so. Advanced
Possess extensive knowledge of gas measurement and corrosion principals. Possess strong troubleshooting skills. Advanced
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, one-line diagrams, piping alignment sheets, etc. Advanced
Ability to complete tasks and assignments in a safe and environmentally responsible manner including ensuring proper handling and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste. Intermediate
Possess intermediate to advanced level proficiency in Microsoft applications (Excel/Work/Outlook/Access) specifically for the purposes of word processing, spreadsheet applications, and information retrieval. Intermediate
Ability to maintain detailed records to ensure compliance with all Company policies as well as all local, state, and federal regulations. Advanced
Possess strong verbal and written English communication skills. Advanced
Posses in-depth knowledge of mechanical principals, previous experience with maintenance scheduling database, and NACE certification. Advanced
Knowledge of 49CFR 192 Regulations
Licenses and Certifications
National Association of Corrosion Engineers certification Level 1 Required
National Association of Corrosion Engineers certification Level 2 Preferred
National Association of Corrosion Engineers certification Level 3 Preferred
Other Qualifications
Must posses a valid driver’s license
Ability to infrequently travel outside the job location area
This position requires manual dexterity and visual acuity
Exert up to 100 pounds of physical force
