Sentara Health is seeking a Full-time Employee Relations HR Consultant for the Office of Leave and Accommodations Support.
The position is located in VA or could be remote – work from home is available only in these states:Alabama, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington (state), West Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming
Minimum Requirements:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management or a related field is required.
  • In addition, 2 years of Employee Relations experience is required.
  • 4 years of employee relations and/or labor relations are required instead of a Bachelor's degree.
  • HR Certification preferred.
Responsibilities:
  • Provides Employee Relations support to Leaders and Team Members in assigned Division to promote and maintain positive employee relations.
  • Ensures practices are consistent with applicable laws and Sentara policies.
  • Conducts thorough investigations of complaints to identify and resolve concerns while reducing the risk of legal action. Identifies and responds to situations that could impact Sentara's Philosophy on third-party representation.
  • Maintains timely and complete documentation of ER matters.
  • Consistently delivers a high caliber of professional work to achieve a high level of customer service.
  • Establishes a presence and is visible in the Division as a resource to proactively resolve concerns.
  • Monitors trends within the Division to make recommendations to HR and operational leaders on actions.
