As the Field Support Lead - Diagnostics, your essential job functions will include the following: Sourcing and managing automotive technology products and services, ensuring that they meet the organization's requirements, are procured at optimal costs, and are delivered and maintained effectively. In addition, you’ll provide automotive technological support for our technicians and other service staff in the field. You’ll be responsible for reviewing new location vehicle demographics and selecting the most appropriate and cost-effective equipment to be able to service the majority of vehicles at that location. You’ll also complete the installation and configuring of the tools and equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assessing the organization's automotive technology service needs and developing service plans or strategies to meet those needs including selection, procurement, and maintenance of automotive diagnostic tools.
  • Developing and implementing service & equipment quality standards and processes to ensure consistent and reliable service delivery.
  • Selecting and procuring auto and service diagnostic equipment along with negotiating contracts and agreements with suppliers to obtain favorable terms and conditions.
  • Working closely with automotive diagnostic suppliers to ensure we have the most state of the art, accurate and efficient diagnostic equipment allowing our sites to operate at peak efficiency. This includes beta testing new equipment as it becomes available.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, such as technicians, IT, operations, and finance, to align procurement activities with business objectives.
  • Installing and configuring of the automotive diagnostic tools and collaborating with cross-functional teams required to complete setup.
  • Keeping up to date with emerging trends and advancements in automotive technology services and developing technician training curriculums and knowledge-based tools based on learnings.
  • Working closely with our technicians, database and IT teams to troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues related to automotive technology services.
  • Maintaining inventory of critical diagnostic equipment to be able to support efficient multi-site roll out along with supporting our existing sites.
  • Monitoring and managing the performance and renewals of diagnostic equipment and software, conducting regular reviews, and verifying all renewals are processed timely and accurately to ensure all sites are operational.

Position Requirements

  • High school Diploma (associate or bachelor’s degree preferred).
  • 2 years of experience with automotive diagnostic tools and software.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, communication (written & verbal) and facilitation skills required.
  • Proven organization skills with ability to track and manage large quantities of information.
  • Ability to manage in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and thinking systematically.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word) products.
  • Proficiency with or willingness to learn utilizing project management software such as Teamwork.

Physical Job Requirements

  • Continuous viewing from and inputting data to a computer screen.
  • Sitting for long periods of time.
  • Travel as necessary (<25%)
