Why Work with Us:We are looking for a dedicated Wine Director with Michelin experience to lead Sepia & Proxi restaurantsAs our Wine Director, you’ll have the opportunity to shape the future of one of Chicago’s most highly awarded and long stading restaurants, driving excellence and innovation at every turn.
As our Wine Director, we will provide you with a platform to showcase talent, allowing creative control of both our concepts '1 Michelin Star' and directly engaging with guests by introducing each wine pairing. You’ll be the face of our brand, delivering flawless, compelling beverage service that reflects positively on us and our partners.
Qulifications:
* 5 years floor experience as sommelier in high-end restaurant/ hotel, Michelin starred establishments (or equivalent) strongly preferred
* 5 years’ experience assisting in the organization and upkeep of a large (500 selection) wine cellar
* Excellent and effective trainer
* Completed or in-process accreditation with a wine education body (CMS Advanced, WSET Level 4, or equivalent)
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* High level of organization and self-motivation
What you will need:• Passion: You have hospitality running through your veins and love creating memorable experiences for guests.
• Quality: You understand the true meaning of quality and know how to uphold it in every aspect of the restaurant.
• Knowledge: Collaborate with the chef to understand menu items and effectively communicate pairings with guests.
• Wine Service: Deliver flawless and comfortable wine service, ensuring all aspects of beverage service reflect positively on our brand.
• Guest Interaction: Personally introduce each wine pairing, sharing your expertise and passion.
• Service Standards: Participate in all service steps, from setup to breakdown, while maintaining high standards of sanitation and presentation.
• Inventory: Monitor and restock cellar inventory as needed, keeping our wine displays organized and appealing. Ordering, budgets, costing.
Pay: $80,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
