Serco is hiring an Electronics Maintenance Technician to be part of a dynamic team supporting our US. Navy. You will be part of a team that works closely with the customer and other Serco team members to deliver quality work performed on-board U.S. Naval Ships located in Norfolk, VA.

Serco supports our US Naval Ships with successful and safe work for our Navy customer by providing cabling, equipment, and C5ISR system installations for our Navy and the Military. You will join an active team to perform general manual labor to support this critical mission. 

In this role, you will: 

• Be the point of contact (POC) between the Government Installation Managers, SY Maintenance Teams, Program Offices, and other Resource Branches within WXM regarding the respective installation activities and other technical support.
• Aid with installation/maintenance, technical support, and check-out Navy Processes.
• Attend Work Integration Package Conferences and Maintenance Team Installation Status Meetings. 
• Understanding of the Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual (JFMM) and the Navy Modernization Process
• Understanding requirements of System Operational Verification Tests and Test Plans Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) Safety Training Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)o Fiber Optic Training (Cableway, Connector Fab, and QA)o OSHA 10-hour Maritime #7615 Shipyard Training
• Assist with ship and event scheduling, operational security, Work Authorization Forms (WAF) and Tag-out.
• Maintain and assist with Configuration Management and ship change document processing per the Navy Modernization Process (NAVSEA SL720-AAMAN-030)
• Shipboard Operations: command hierarchy, shipboard protocol, fire prevention, fire safety Technical Competencies.
• Provide Shipboard services for identified systems per technical documentation, and Contractor Technical Work Document (CTWD).
• Work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Be a team player and work cross-functionally with other teams. 
• Attend meetings as required by the business.
• Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

In this Role, you will have:

• Have a High School Diploma.
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD secret clearance.
• Familiarity with NAVSEA processes.
• The ability to successfully undergo a Background Investigation, Drug Screen, and obtain access to HII shipyard, NAVSTA & DBIDS.
• The ability to effectively multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced dynamic production environment.
• Be knowledgeable of adherence documents including safety, environmental, workmanship, quality and technical instructions.
• Understanding of the Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual (JFMM) and the Navy Modernization Process.
• Understanding of System Operational Verification Tests and Test Plans Electrostatic Discharge (ESD10)
• Be willing to travel domestically 10% of the time to Bremerton, WA, San Diego, CA, and Jacksonville, FL. (among other locations).

 Additional desired skills and experience:

• An active Secret Clearance
• Safety Training Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
• Fiber Optic Training (Cableway, Connector Fab, and QA
• OSHA 10-hour Maritime Shipyard Training
