Serco North America is Hiring a Logistics Coordinator Near Oxnard, CA

Position Description

If you love high profile and challanging projects supporting the US Navy - Serco has a great opportunity for you! Serco’s Maritime Engineering, Technology and Sustainment (METS) business unit employs a team of U.S. Navy Combat System experts based out of our Oxnard, CA location. Our goal is to provide our sailors with access to cutting edge technology by providing material and installation logistics services in support our nation’s most advanced combat systems.

This position is contingent upon your ability to maintain your active Secret level DoD clearance. 

This position manages day-to-day warehouse operations including, but not limited to, receiving, picking, packing, shipping, and inventory.

In this role, your will:

  • Be responsible for making deliveries, answering phone calls, responding to email inquiries, and keeping a safe and clean work area.
  • Provide basic clerical and data entry
  • Take initiative, along with good people skills to communicate with colleagues, vendors, and international counterparts.

  • Work closely with the Logistics analyst to coordinate inbound/outbound Less Than Truckload, Truckload shipments

Qualifications

To be succsessful in this role, you will have:

  • High School Diploma with a minimum of 2-3 years of Logistics/warehouse experience, international shipping experience a plus
  • Must have an active Secret level DoD Clearance to be considered 
  • Basic clerical and data entry skills and use relevant computer software/applications at a basic level is required.
  • Solid analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Able to perform basic mathematical calculations
  • Ability to manage multiple projects
  • Strong collaborator
  • Able to execute instruction and to request clarification when needed from the proper personnel
  • Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and written

Physical:

  • Physically able to lift to 50 pounds and be able to squat, bend over, and to stand for long periods of time
  • Operates Material Handling Equipment (forklift, pallet jack)
  • Able to use power tools/ such as circular saws, screw guns, and nail guns
  • Working closely with the Logistics analyst to coordinate inbound/outbound Less Than Truckload, Truckload shipments
  • Aid with material shipments to meet shipping dates and escalate/report any issues to proper personnel
  • Picking/packing orders from stock
  • Check orders for accuracy

Inventory:

  • Reconciliation of discrepancies with Inventory counts reporting all discrepancies to the Logistics analyst
  • Maintain clean and organized work area/warehouse
  • Receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, report any discrepancies to Government representative and Logistics analyst
