Serenity C & C, Inc. is Hiring a Human Resources Specialist Near Richmond, VA

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Serenity C & C, Inc. is a Sponsored Residential Service that is licensed by the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services of the State of Virginia. Our company is licensed to provide the support and training to individuals with intellectual disabilities and we serve individuals who have a Medicaid Wavier for ID/DD.

JOB TITLE: Human Resources Specialist

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Program Director

Position Summary:

Supports the full cycle Recruiting process by providing continuity to new hires to enhance the new hire experience. Works closely with hiring managers and Recruitment team to ensure the overall goals of the department are met timely and efficiently. It is very important that the Human Resources personnel maintain a professional demeanor and appearance with customers, employees and providers.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists department in carrying out various human resources programs and procedures for all company employees
  • Coordinates recruitment efforts for exempt and nonexempt personnel (excluding managerial levels and above); and helps to coordinate the use of temporary employees
  • Conducts new employee orientations; administers pre-employment background checks; conducts reference checks
  • Coordinates and manages volunteer, intern and contractor relationships. Verifies credentials and coordinates other required screenings
  • Process hires utilizing the HRIS ensuring the integrity of data
  • Open and close opportunities utilizing the Recruiting module to seek approvals and posting authorizations
  • Assists with annual EEO-1 report; maintains other records, reports, and logs pertaining to applicant flow procedures
  • Assists in exit interview process
  • Assists in organizational training and development efforts
  • Assists with company-wide employee initiatives
  • Assists with interview panel participation and selection of qualified candidates
  • Maintains all employee and applicant documentation as dictated by government agencies
  • Maintains employee personnel files
  • Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars
  • Ensures compliance with local, state and federal laws and regulations related to human resources
  • Other duties as assigned

· Become familiar with all the Regulations outlined by the following entities:

o DBHDS

o DMAS

o REDCAP

o HSAG

o HCBS

o QSR

o VNPP

o Human Rights

o Policy and Procedure

Serenity C&C Duties and Responsibilities

· Provide ongoing training opportunities for selected candidate

· Provide a company vehicle for all travel expenses

· Provide company phone for work related communication

· Provide Hotel and Flight accommodations (if needed)

Qualification/Requirements:

- Strong background in human resources
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficiency in human capital management and talent acquisition
- Knowledge of employment & labor law
- Experience in change management and project management
- Familiarity with employee orientation, evaluation, and talent management
- Ability to work with HR systems like ADP
- Understanding of OSHA regulations and data collection processes

Education and work experience requires any combination of the following:

  • A bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management or related field, OR 1-2 years’ experience in the HR field, OR Any similar combination of education and experience
  • Must be able to use MS Word, Excel, and any Data Entry software

Skills Knowledge & Abilities:

· Requires effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and computer literacy.

· Typically, this job requires extended periods of sitting. However, there may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying of light items such as papers, books, etc. These tasks are required less than 20% of the time

Physical Requirements:

· Ability to work at a computer for extended periods

· Ability to lift up to 10 pounds frequently and 25 pounds occasionally

· Ability to open files and cabinet drawers, stoop and bend
