Position Overview:

The IT Director will be responsible for overseeing multiple IT projects, managing a team of IT professionals, engaging with clients, and developing new offerings and solutions. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and a proven track record in IT project management and delivery. The IT Director will interface with clients to ensure successful project delivery and continuous improvement of our IT services, with a special focus on application development.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management:

  • Oversee the planning, execution, and successful completion of multiple IT projects.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Develop and implement project management methodologies and best practices.
  • Drive the full application development lifecycle from concept through deployment and support.

Leadership:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of IT professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide professional development opportunities for team members.
  • Allocate resources effectively to ensure project success and team productivity.
  • Inspire and guide teams in the development of innovative applications and solutions.

Client Engagement:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, building and maintaining strong relationships.
  • Understand client needs and requirements, ensuring they are met through effective project delivery.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to clients on project progress and outcomes.
  • Offer expertise in application development to address client-specific challenges and needs.

Building New Offerings & Solutions:

  • Identify opportunities for new IT offerings and solutions that align with market trends and client needs.
  • Lead the development and implementation of innovative IT solutions to enhance service delivery.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring new offerings to market.
  • Focus on creating advanced applications that provide significant business value.

Client Interface:

  • Conduct regular meetings with clients to discuss project status, address any concerns, and gather feedback.
  • Ensure client satisfaction through proactive communication and responsive service.
  • Present project proposals, progress reports, and final deliverables to clients.
  • Translate client requirements into detailed application specifications and project plans.

Project Delivery:

  • Ensure all projects are delivered to the highest standards of quality and client satisfaction.
  • Monitor and manage project risks and issues, implementing mitigation strategies as necessary.
  • Drive continuous improvement in project delivery processes and outcomes.
  • Lead teams in the agile development and deployment of software applications.

Strategic Planning:

  • Develop and execute IT strategies aligned with business goals and objectives.
  • Provide strategic direction and oversight for all IT initiatives.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to ensure the company remains at the forefront of innovation.
  • Create and implement strategies for application development that align with business objectives.

Budget Management:

  • Develop and manage the IT department’s budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
  • Monitor expenditures and financial performance, implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising on quality or service delivery.

Vendor Management:

  • Establish and maintain relationships with key technology vendors and service providers.
  • Negotiate contracts and manage vendor performance to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Evaluate and select new vendors as needed to support IT initiatives.

Compliance and Security:

  • Ensure all IT activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Develop and implement security policies and procedures to protect company data and systems.
  • Monitor and respond to security incidents, ensuring timely resolution and prevention of future occurrences.

Performance Metrics:

  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of IT operations.
  • Prepare and present performance reports to senior management, highlighting achievements and areas for improvement.
  • Use data-driven insights to drive decision-making and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 14 years of experience in IT project management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience managing multiple IT projects simultaneously.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent client engagement and relationship management abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement innovative IT solutions.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • PMP, ITIL, or similar certification is a plus.
  • Extensive experience in application development and deployment.
