Accounting Manager/Bookkeeper

As the Accounting Manager/Bookkeeper, you will lead our accounting department, streamline financial reporting processes by creating monthly financial status reports for Senior Management including but not limited to Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow and works in progress. Specific tasks include:

· Oversite and implementation of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Collections to help improve our operational efficiency and continued growth.

· Manage and monitor all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems by the 25th working day of the following month.

· Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Statement of Cash Flow, including WIP.

· Assisting in compliance with appropriate generally accepted accounting principles, standards, and regulatory compliance.

· Maintain internal control safeguards for the receipt of revenue, costs and both team and organizational budgets and actual expenditures.

· Reporting standards on a bi-weekly, monthly (closing), and annual basis, prepare and provide documents for CPA (Monthly-internal, Quarterly-bank/bond *cc CPA, Annually-CPA).

· Implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all programs, upholding federal, state, and local legal standards by remaining knowledgeable about existing, new, and future legislation

· Develop and enforce accounting internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflow.

· Oversee and support accounting team with dynamic leadership that creates an environment of trust and productivity and maintaining financial staff by recruiting, selecting orienting and training.

· Protects operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential.

· Control of company passwords, credit cards and payment options.

· Banking and banking relationships.

· Direct deposit uploads weekly, remote deposits, positive pay.

· Review and approve weekly disbursement requirements, direct to pay.

· Review and approve A/P, A/R-all checks issued.

· Preparation of 1099 Forms for year end.

· Create and manage company budget.

· Quarterly payroll tax reporting.

· One separate minor entity: A/P, A/R, annual CAOE preparations, rental agreements, and rental roll schedule.

· Reconciliation bank accounts, credit cards and payment options.

· Managing all ledgers, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger, as well as billing and invoicing providing timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end reporting.

· Manage all banking and insurance transactions and on-going cash flow updates all reporting and provide monthly project performance reports, and as needed.

· Running all in-house payroll including verifying employee setup, benefit setup, selection, deductions, additional pay etc. Also includes payroll tax, including balancing and making bi-weekly tax payments, preparation of, balancing and submitting quarter returns and finally annual returns, W2s etc.

· Management of insurance policies for the business and managing annual renewal process.

Our ideal candidate has several years of prior construction bookkeeping and accounting experience, expert-level knowledge of Sage 300 software, and experience preparing financial statements. Additionally, you will need communication skills to explain financial concepts to other team members as needed. This person will need to be meticulous, will need to have high attention to detail and a strong understanding of financial principles. One AP/AR specialist will be supporting and reporting into this role. Outside of AP/AR, this role is responsible for all other financial functions of the business and is reporting directly to the President/CEO.

Desired Skillset:

· Construction accounting or bookkeeping experience including, progress billings, subcontractors, lien releases, Insurance COI, AIA forms (a must).

· Sage 300 (Timberline) experience (a must).

· GAAP experience (a must).

· A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration (preferred).

· Superb attention to detail.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results.

· Microsoft Word and Excel skills.

Compensation Range and Benefits:

$90,000.00- $120,000.00 annually. Compensation is offered based on work history, years of experience, professional achievements and other nondiscriminatory metrics and factors.
