Job Classification: This is a full-time, exempt position with hours based on client need.
Location: Onsite at Dallas, TX combined with remote work.
Reports To: Director of Financial Services. Salary: Commensurate with experience.
Position Summary:
This position is responsible for providing quality counseling services to individuals seeking assistance in finding, obtaining and maintaining affordable and sustainable housing. This will include pre-purchase counseling, eviction and foreclosure prevention/intervention counseling, financial capabilities coaching, homebuyer education, and group education services. This position requires the use of independent judgement and decision-making skills and the ability to ensure reporting, delivery of services and documentation is in compliance with all agency, state, national and federal programmatic and systematic requirements and standards.
Qualifications:
HUD Housing Counseling Certification (Certification required within 7 days of hire as a condition of employment).
Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license; travel within the Dallas area required.
Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
Ensure program activities, files, data and reporting processes meet or exceed HUD housing counseling and National Industry Standards.
Possess strong analytical and writing skills.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
Maintain client and agent confidentiality.
Position Responsibilities:
Consult during the HUD Panel Review through finalization.
Provide consultation/training to help conduct confidential housing counseling services to include a thorough financial analysis, identification of potential resources, provision of recommendation/suggestions and development of an individualized Action Plan to assist the client in meeting their needs.
Random checks of follow up with clients after completion of their counseling session to determine outcomes and progress towards meeting their needs within the CRM system.
Review data entry into to the client’s electronic file (Client Management System).
Confer and consult to review completed reporting in compliance with HUD and other partners within the time required.
Attend periodic training to remain current on industry and counseling standards.
Consult/train to assist SOH to remain current on HUD changes and requirements until such time as an additional HUD Certified Counselor is brought on board.

Physical Demands:
Ability to carry or transport up to 30 pounds (educational materials and resources).
Ability to sit or stand at a desk for 8 hours.
