Special Education Resource Room TeacherRSU 1 seeks a Special Education Resource Room Teacher, with a focus on Social Emotional Learning, for Dike-Newell School beginning with the 2024-2025 school year. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of and experience working within special education settings and regulations.
Qualifications
- Demonstrate an understanding of elementary age students’ academic learning (reading, writing, and math) and social/emotional needs
- Ability to teach academic and social emotional skill building groups, and design in-class support services
- Understand how to evaluate and teach needed executive functioning skills for success as a student in general education classrooms
- Ability to implement and track data for check in/check out programs for IEP students
- Develop and implement positive behavior support plans for IEP students to be successful in general education classrooms
- Communicate effectively with families and colleagues
- Strong collaboration skills and a proven ability to work well in a fast paced, team oriented environment
- Teacher of Students with Disabilities Teaching Certificate (K-8) (282)
- Current Criminal History Records Check (CHRC)
