Position: Project Manager

Reports to: Operations Manager

Department: Production

Project Manager Development Program:

Our company is searching for candidates that are looking to partake in a professional development training program that ends with them becoming a full-time Project Manager at the end of the training and development period. All the skills and tools needed to be successful will be taught on the job and paid for by the company. This includes classroom schooling for industry specific certifications, on the job training, career development, and coaching management skills. The duration of the program is intended to last approximately 1 year and 6 months. Applicants will enter the program as a mid-level manager (Restoration Manager) and will start by shadowing other experienced managers out in the field. This experience will be crucial in understanding how the industry works and to appreciate what you will be asking your subordinates to do once you become a Project Manager at the end of the program. Once the candidate has a grasp on the basic field work, they will be trained on how to do the higher order responsibilities such as estimating, billing, managing the customer experience, communicating with clients, and managing multiple subordinate crews out in the field.

Job Title Summary:

Servpro is in the business of emergency restoration. This is a highly specialized field of work that aims to restore homes and business that have been damaged or destroyed by all kinds of disasters such as floods, fire damage, smoke damage, mold and anything else that can be conceived of. Servpro saves businesses and homes from the brink of destruction and saves our customers’ most important possessions. As a Restoration Project Manager, your role is to facilitate the best customer experience possible for people that have their homes and businesses threatened by disaster. You wear many hats because, not only are you responsible for ensuring a good customer experience under these intense circumstances, but you are also responsible for training and developing your team of managers in the field, estimating the cost of projects, negotiating with insurance companies for the customer’s reimbursement on insurance claims, consoling and giving advice, and all while attempting to maximize the company’s profit margins. Restoration Manager Responsibilities:

Ø Evaluate damaged properties and come up with a plan to restore them

Ø Manage and delegate tasks to the crew members to execute the plan

Ø Communicate with property owners and Servpro management on project status

Ø Document services performed for billing and insurance purposes

Project Manager Responsibilities:

Ø Schedule crews and resources to multiple active projects

Ø Coordinate and oversee the production of services with crews and subcontractors

Ø Estimate the cost of potential projects

Ø Negotiate customer and insurance approval of project estimates

Ø Maintain communication with all relevant stakeholders during a project

Ø Manage the customer experience and overall customer satisfaction

Ø Manage insurance company relationships

Ø Document and produce job files for billing purposes

Ø Manage production expenses

Ø Enforce safe work practices and adherence to relevant OSHA safety practices for all subordinates

Project Manager Secondary Responsibilities:

Ø Train production personnel

Ø Recruit production personnel

Ø Develop leadership, management skills, and restoration expertise in the staff

Ø Other duties as required by employer

Necessary Experience and Skill Set:

Ø Strong interpersonal skills, leadership skills, and management skills.

Ø Strong communication skills, oral and written.

Formal Education/Training:

Ø Associates degree or bachelor’s degree

Physical and Work Environment Requirements:

Restoration Manager:

Involves physical activities such as lifting 50 pounds independently, occasionally lifting up to 100 pounds with assistance, walking and standing for long periods of time, driving, sitting, climbing ladders, utilizing scaffolding or lifts, pushing/pulling/lifting/carrying objects, working around chemicals, and working overhead. While performing occasional jobsite duties, the employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions such as heat, noxious odors, etc. The employee will be required to occasionally wear a respirator and Tyvek suits for their safety.

Project Manager:

Involves office work as well as frequent field visits to subordinate crews on various job sites. This may involve any of the physical activities listed above on a much more in frequent basis.

Normal Working Hours, Additional Working Hours and Travel Requirements:

This is a full-time position working 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week. This position may require long hours (beyond 8 hours a day), including evenings and weekends, as needed. Travel is primarily local, however there will be opportunities to travel for storm events in other parts of the country over night on an infrequent basis. Both Restoration Managers and Project managers are required to be “On-Call” for one week a month. The purpose of this is to serve any customers that may need emergency clean up services after normal business hours.

Pay: From $23.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
