Hoskins School of Mission Graduate Assistant:
Student Engagement
The individual in this Graduate Assistant role will assist in developing and facilitating learning experiences and enhancements for on-campus and online students engaged in Hoskins School of Mission (HSOM) programs. This experience will be supported by curating meaningful engagement opportunities that promote academic, vocational, and interpersonal missional development, as well as program viability and impact.
This role is intended to work from SEU’s Lakeland campus during university, daytime office hours to fulfill a weekly work schedule. Some evening and weekend hours will be required.
Classification: Part-Time/Stipend
Work Hours: 29 hours/week
Reports to: Chair of the Hoskins School of Mission
Minimum Education Required: Bachelor’s degree
General Qualifications:
Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Maintains a Christ-like attitude in relationships and professional encounters.
Internship and/or practicum experience with HSOM.
Ability to communicate effectively in various modalities and environments.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Organizational and administrative skills.
Experience working with a team (1-2 years).
Hospitality and event planning.
Experience facilitating internships (or comparable student groups).
Duties and Responsibilities:
Serve as on-site connection for undergraduate students who are engaged in HSOM programs.
Promotion and recruitment of HSOM’s undergraduate and graduate degree programs at SEU’s Lakeland campus
Promotion and recruitment of HSOM’s undergraduate and graduate degree programs in SEU’s extension network and at promotional events
Facilitate gatherings and events for all HSOM students that foster engagement, academic success, networking, and missional development.
Support hosting individual and group meetings for interns and practicum students.
Assist in the development and implementation of learning enhancements for Missional Leadership track courses.
Support the coordination and scheduling of office hours for students in HSOM programs.
Assist in providing orientation to new HSOM students to enhance the first-year experience and program retention.
Assist with internal and external marketing endeavors for HSOM.
Support hosting visiting scholars, missionaries, practitioners, and students who visit HSOM.
Perform other duties assigned by HSOM.
