Responsibilities

• Accurately code diagnoses, procedures, and services for home health visits according to current coding guidelines and regulations
• Review and verify all necessary documentation for completeness and accuracy before submitting claims for reimbursement
• Communicate with healthcare providers and insurance companies to resolve any coding or billing discrepancies
• Maintain knowledge of current coding and billing guidelines, regulations, and requirements
• Obtain and monitor insurance authorizations and verification
• Keep detailed records of claims, payments, and denials to identify trends and areas for improvement
• Assist with the development and implementation of billing and coding policies and procedures
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely and accurate billing processes

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, associate or bachelor's degree in healthcare management or related field preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in coding and billing for home health services.
• Knowledge of CMS coding, billing regulations, and procedures related to home health services
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and billing software
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong knowledge and practice with ICD-10
