Job Title: Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)

Location: New Bern, NC

Pay Rate: $85.80 - $132.90 Per Hour

Shift: Varied Shifts - Options for 3x12s and 5x8s

Relocation Assistance: Up to $10,000.00 for Qualified Candidates

Sign-On Bonus: $20,000.00 for 24 Months / $30,000.00 for 36 Months for Full-Time Employees

Job Summary:
As a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA), you will play a vital role in the healthcare team by providing total anesthesia care to patients requiring anesthesia services. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks, including pre-anesthetic evaluation and preparation, anesthesia induction and maintenance, post-anesthetic care, pain management, and response to emergency situations related to airway management and cardiac life support techniques. The CRNA role demands advanced clinical expertise and the ability to deliver safe and effective anesthesia services across various patient populations and surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough pre-anesthetic evaluations of patients to assess their medical history, current health status, and anesthesia requirements.
  • Develop individualized anesthesia care plans based on patient assessments, surgical requirements, and anesthesia protocols.
  • Administer anesthesia, including induction, maintenance, and emergence, using appropriate pharmacological agents and techniques.
  • Monitor patient vital signs, anesthesia depth, and physiological responses throughout the perioperative period, adjusting anesthesia as needed to ensure patient safety and comfort.
  • Provide post-anesthetic care, including monitoring recovery, managing pain, and addressing any complications or adverse reactions.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes and ensure continuity of care.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to emergency situations, including airway management, cardiac arrest, and other life-threatening events.
  • Document anesthesia care provided, including patient assessments, anesthesia records, and medication administration, in accordance with regulatory standards and facility policies.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, continuing education, and professional development activities to maintain clinical competency and enhance patient care delivery.
  • Adhere to ethical and legal standards of practice, maintaining patient confidentiality and upholding professional integrity at all times.

Minimum Requirements: Graduate of a nurse anesthesia education program accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA) of Nurse Anesthesia Education Programs or its predecessor. Current license as Registered Nurse by the North Carolina Board of Nursing (NCBON) or current compact state license. Current recognition as a CRNA by NCBON. Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications. Certification/recertification by National Board of Certification and Recertification of Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA). Insurable by an appropriate medical malpractice insurer for the limits required by this organization and state. Demonstrates competency in the responsibilities specified in this job description and privileges.
