Job Title: Registered Nurse - Emergency Department
Location: York, PA
Rate: $2160 Weekly
Shift: 36hrs - 3x12hrs - Nights
Job description:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Emergency Department Registered Nurse to join our team at a reputable healthcare facility in York, PA. As an Emergency Department Registered Nurse, you will play a crucial role in providing excellent patient care and assisting in emergency medical situations. This position requires quick thinking, strong clinical skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
Responsibilities:
- Provide expert care and assessment for patients arriving in the emergency department, with a focus on the triage process and initial patient evaluation.
- Administer medication, treatments, and procedures according to physician orders and nursing protocols.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans, ensuring the highest quality of care.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families, ensuring they understand their conditions, treatment options, and post-ED care instructions.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records and documentation for each patient encounter.
- Monitor patient vital signs, initiate and interpret diagnostic tests, and report findings to the overseeing the physician.
- Uphold infection control and safety protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in emergency nursing, participating in ongoing education and training opportunities as required.
Qualifications:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Pennsylvania.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred, but a minimum of an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) is required.
- Minimum of two years of recent experience working as an emergency department nurse.
- BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications are required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to work calmly and efficiently in high-stress situations, while maintaining a patient-centered approach.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize and make quick decisions.
- Knowledge of relevant emergency nursing practices, procedures, and standards of care.
- Proficient in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems and other digital healthcare technologies.
