Seventh Sense Consulting, LLC is Hiring a Contract Specialist Near Washington, DC

We are looking for a Contract Specialist to:
  • Carry out pre-determined and recurring cradle to grave contract administration duties.
  • Conduct acquisition planning, solicitation preparation, market research/analysis, source selection and administration of terms and conditions, cost/price analysis, negotiation, preparation of contract award and modifications, support government in the evaluation of contractor performance, contract termination, and contract closeout.
Work Location: This position offers a hybrid schedule - you'll work 2 days per week on-site in Washington, DC, and Seventh Sense will support your commute by contributing over $1,500 annually to your Transportation FSA. Clearance Requirements: DHS Public Trust (Background investigation can take up to 6 months, therefore priority consideration will be given to individuals with an active DHS badge.)

Responsibilities:
Support cradle-to-grave contracting processes in a contracting organization, and perform tasks such as:
  • Resolve all but the most complex contract-related issues, while also supporting ongoing contract negotiations with the Contracting Officer.
  • Independently execute contract administration tasks, including
    • Reviewing acquisition-related documentation.
    • Conducting acquisition planning.
    • Developing solicitations, including evaluation criteria, terms and conditions, etc.
    • Preparing contracts, task orders, delivery orders, and / or purchase orders.
    • Preparing modifications to contracts, task orders, delivery orders, and / or purchase orders.
    • Assisting the Contracting Officer in preparing closeout paperwork, such as reports and supporting artifacts.
    • Developing and maintaining electronic contract files.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree and at least 24 hours in business-related courses in any of the following fields: accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management.
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge in pre-award contract support and post-award contract management.
  • Knowledge and exposure to cost reimbursement/cost sharing contracts and review of claims and equitable adjustments. .
  • knowledge of the FAR and/or associated FAR supplements.
  • Conversational knowledge of FAR 8.4, 12, 13, 15, and 16.505.
  • Experience performing acquisition planning, market research, and drafting technical requirements.
  • Familiarity of negotiation techniques and skill in devising negotiation strategies to deal with contractors in resolving such problems as reducing costs, adjusting delivery schedules, and negotiating in sole source environments.
  • Knowledge and familiarity in applying analytical and evaluative techniques to the evaluation of contract proposals and knowledge of laws, regulations, agency policy, precedent cases, and other requirements that affect acquisition.
  • Must be proficient using document retrieval systems, MS Windows, Adobe Acrobat X Pro, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Word.
Desired Qualifications:
  • One of the following Contracting related certifications: DAWIA Contracting Level I or II, FAC-C Level I, or II.
