MUST HAVE FOOD MANUFACTURING EXPERIENCE
SUMMARY: The Production Supervisor provides direct supervision and training of food production line workers and oversees production lines under general supervision of plant management.
Education / Experience
- High School diploma or GED; associate's degree a plus.
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in food industry
- Proven ability to train, explain and answer questions regarding recipes, proper procedures and measurement techniques for production line employees.
- Ability to identify errors such as improper procedures, scaling, hygiene, sanitation, safety.
Job Responsibilities
- Ensures that new employees complete Quality Assurance orientation and all current employees complete annual training, including allergens, hygiene, safety, sanitation, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP), and good manufacturing practice (GMP) required for the position.
- Trains new employees to properly perform tasks and complete recipes.
- Provides regular feedback regarding line worker's performance, recognizing excellence and areas needing improvement. Provide coaching to operators who need additional help to improve performance.
- Checks daily schedule and oversees preparation of workstation in accordance to assigned recipe including assembling all materials and equipment.
- Verify raw materials, partially prepped food, and completed food meets approved quality standards. Report quality problems to Production and or Quality Assurance Manager immediately.
- Verify equipment works correctly at beginning, during and end of shift. Report any problems.
- Verifies that workstation procedures including accurately measuring/weighing raw and prepared food are followed.
- Verifies procedures for storing prepared food items (raw and/or cooked) for next step in the cooking process are followed.
- Verifies approved sanitation policies concerning temperature control, cross contamination, food preparation, and cleanup are followed.
