**Job Overview:**

We are seeking a detail-oriented Tax Preparer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in gathering data from client source information ( often a Quickbooks file) to be used in filing business tax returns. Experience in preparing individual tax returns is also needed. You will also be asked to review the tax returns of other preparers prior to final processing. A willingness to work 55 to 60 hours a week from early February through April 15th is required. Overtime hours worked will be compensated. 35 to 40 hours per week the last two weeks in January and 120 to 140 hours the six weeks following April 15th will be needed on a flexibale basis. Other hours from June 1st to October 15th may also be available on an as needed basis.

**Duties:**

- Prepare and file accurate tax returns for individuals and businesses

- Review financial records, such as income statements and documentation, to determine forms needed to prepare taxes

- Ensure compliance with tax regulations by staying up-to-date on the latest tax laws and regulations

- Communicate with clients to gather necessary information and answer tax-related questions

- Provide exceptional customer service throughout the tax preparation process

**Qualifications:**

- Previous experience in tax preparation or a related field

- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices

- Proficiency in using accounting software such as QuickBooks and other financial software.

- Familarity with Ultra Tax preparation software is a plus

- Ability to handle sensitive financial information with confidentiality. Background check will be required.

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in calculations

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
