Job Overview: Manages expenses and budget for multiple SMSC construction projects. Tracks and analyzes costs to create ROI statements and forecasting and makes recommendations to department leaders based on analysis and findings. Serves as a liaison in Tribal Operations between Public Works, Land department, Financed department, and external partners. Assist with preparation of annual Capital Improvement Program. Reviews construction contracts and ensures all parties follow terms to mitigate contractual risks. Responsible for the accounting and financial portions of construction projects including but not limited to purchase orders, pay applications, invoices and payment terms. Builds cohesive working relationships with Finance department, Public Works, Land departments, and external construction partners and acts as a liaison between groups.

Job Requirements:Reflects MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING, CERTIFICATION and EXPERIENCE required in order to meet the expectations of this job:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related area (Finance, Accounting, Construction Management, or other related Business degree).
• 5 years of relatable experience.
• Previous construction experience.
• Experience working on 1 million dollar municipal, transportation, or commercial/industrial projects.
• Proven ability to effectively negotiate terms with contractors and suppliers.
• Ability to motivate and influence change amongst employees, vendors, and leadership.
• Requires knowledge of Accounting and Financial methodologies, terminology, and principles.
• Proficient working with Microsoft Office products.
• Familiarity with construction billing software.
• Valid Class D driver’s license may be required with a good driving record.
