SHALVA, Inc. is Hiring an Outreach Coordinator Near Chicago, IL
ResponsibilitiesThe Outreach Coordinator’s goal is to build a community-wide knowledge base around healthy and unhealthy/abusive relationships while increasing individuals’ comfort levels in reaching out to SHALVA for help. The Outreach Coordinator will be responsible for creating, customizing, and implementing programs and events. This should include innovative ways to attract our growing target audience. Key to the Outreach Coordinator’s work will be managing relationships with current community partners while building new relationships. This includes helping launch a new Young Adult Board Council. This person will also support the growth of Seven Circles, a domestic violence prevention education program for young adult couples, through community outreach efforts and social media and blog content creation.
Salary/BenefitsThis is a full-time position. Salary is commensurate with experience. This role is eligible for benefits including health, life, and disability insurance, generous paid leave, flexible work schedules, FSA, cell phone stipend, and a 401(k) plan with an employer match component after one year.

RequirementsMandatory Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum College degree.
- 3-5 years professional experience, ideally tailored to the Jewish community and/or domestic abuse.
- Confident and comfortable presenting to and building relationships with a range of audiences, including but not limited to: Clergy, organizational leaders, community members in traditional and non-traditional Jewish settings (including Jewish adults of all genders 18 years and older).
- Familiar and comfortable with the range of Jewish observance.
- Strong time management skills and demonstrated ability to balance a range of goals.
- Basic understanding of social media.
- Intermediate technical skills (Microsoft 365).
- Passionate about domestic abuse education.
- Must be available for evening events across Chicagoland.
- Knowledge and understanding of domestic abuse, including completion of the Illinois Domestic Violence Act’s DV 40-hour training.
- Experience engaging the 18-36 age demographic.
- Professional social media and blog writing experience.
- Familiarity with the Jewish queer community.
- Experience using learning management systems (LMS) platforms.
- Experience creating content using Canva or Prezi.
