Shank’s Extracts is Hiring a Team leader Near Lancaster, PA

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION

The primary purpose of this position is to schedule the department workload, perform Processor duties, and provide support to the department manager.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for upholding company policies and procedures including but not limited to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), record keeping, sanitation, cleanliness, equipment verification, process validation, and complaint handling.
  • Analyze and verify the accuracy of internal customer service schedules to meet processing requirements and schedule appropriate jobs to achieve expectations.
  • Attends inter-department meetings, communicates, and contributes to team efforts to satisfy customer priorities; including raw material, supplies, and equipment planning.
  • Communicate regularly with production schedulers.
  • Effectively prioritizes and completes production scheduling activities enter production orders, capacity planning, inventory control, on-time delivery, and customer service / sales interface.
  • Create, prepare, and maintain daily / weekly master work schedule utilizing MS Excel, and ERP software and track orders to achieve required on-time delivery goals.
  • Establish priorities; monitor progress; resolve scheduling problems; report processing scheduling results.
  • Propose schedule changes to the customer service team and plant management.
  • Assist in the tracking of finished goods and track WIP to meet future shipments.
  • Assist in reconciling inventory errors and shortages.
  • Analyzes processing job instructions and recommends changes.
  • Communicates daily master schedule expectations to department team leader; planning, monitoring, and coordinating.
  • Promote healthy communication between workers and management.
  • Maintains quality and safety by enforcing organization standards.
  • Assist in scheduling quality, sanitation, maintenance, and other downtime tasks and duties.
  • Receives and completes Processing jobs daily.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL / SKILLS NEEDED :

Processing Team Leader

  • Processor Level 3 certification
  • MS Office Outlook, Excel, ERP
  • Communicates department schedule deadlines and production goals to team members
  • Provide schedule guidance to the team based on management direction
  • Motivate and inspire team members
  • Production Planning and Scheduling, Process Improvement, Problem Solving / Analysis, Results Driven, Communication Proficiency, Time Management.
  • Experienced with the ability to meet production schedules.
  • Ability to understand the processes and to run all available equipment in the Processing department.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work well with a diverse group of staff, co-workers, and all those involved with the production process.
  • Experienced in being responsible for the company facilities, equipment, or other material assets.
  • Must be team-oriented and able to work well in a team setting yet be able to work independently.
  • Able to handle repetitious and routine work, detail-oriented, self-motivated, organized, and uses good judgment.
  • English comprehension including speaking, reading, and writing is required for our business's necessityto ensurea safe and effective work environment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Previous 2-3 years of workload scheduling experience in a food production environment (preferred)
  • Food Safety Systems
  • HACCP Training for Processors (training provided)
  • MS Office Outlook, Excel
  • Familiar with ERP software

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :

  • Regular physical effort requiring working with light or average-weight material over 50 lbs.
  • Must have use of legs to walk around work area and equipment, must have use of arms and hands to use equipment for mixing and preparation of liquids.
  • Must have use of eyes and ears to hear employees regarding the production and seeing the paperwork and how the equipment is working.
  • Seldom exposed to heat, cold, dryness, vibration and poor ventilation. Occasionally exposed to dust, dirt, fumes and noise.

Frequently exposed to fumes, wetness. Mixing, at time, is dirty / dusty due to nature of powdered ingredient.

Exposure to food allergens such as, but not limited to, milk eggs, tree nuts, wheat, and soybeans will occur.
