Summary:

Athea Laboratories, Inc., a leader in the manufacture of specialty chemical products and wet wipes, has an immediate opening for an IT Manager for its three manufacturing and warehousing locations in the Milwaukee area. This individual will be responsible for handling the day-to-day operations within the IT department. 

Essential functions and responsibilities:

• Hires, supervises, evaluates, plans work objectives, provides training and establishes priorities and/or corrective actions for IT team members
• Provides support and technical assistance, investigates user problems, identifies causes, determines solutions, tests and implements solutions for end-users on computer related matters
• Troubleshoots networks, systems, and applications to identify and correct malfunctions and other operational difficulties
• Ensures completion of routine and ongoing IT support functions
• Plans, coordinates, and implements voice and data technology strategies, to include, performing software and application development, installation, and upgrades
• Documents network problems and resolutions for future reference
• Maintains proficiency in all relevant hardware and software technologies
• Provides recommendations on potential IT solutions that will enhance operations and/or services and identifies opportunities for improvement in technology tools
• Recommends the selection and acquisition of hardware, software, and IT-related services and equipment
• Managing vendor relationship and vendor contracts related to hardware, software, and IT services
• Management of mobile devices in an Apple environment
• Support and administer remote locations and employees
• Maintains inventory of all installed and spare hardware; maintains inventory of all software
• Maintaining backup/restore and disaster recovery preparedness
• Establishes standards for informational technology systems and usage
• Manages multiple projects and implements enterprise technology strategies
• Maintains confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored or accessed by the network
• Develops and administers instructions and/or conducts training for system users on operating systems, relational databases, and other applications; assists users in maximizing use of networks and computing systems
• Installs computer hardware and cabling to support new users and/or systems
• Assumes and performs/responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications:

• Minimum of an Associate’s degree in a related field plus at least five years of additional experience and 2 year of managing experience.
• Strong background with Microsoft active directory infrastructure and network administration including Entra ID cloud services and administration
• Exceptional proficiency with Microsoft 365 suite applications and management, SQL and VBA
• Knowledge and experience with LAN/WAN, Fiber optic, Juniper and Fortinet equipment, MS Exchange Online, Microsoft HyperV, and Thin client multi-user application
• Knowledgeable with network security management and best practices
• Experience with administering an Enterprise Resource Planning software system, specifically in SAP Business One
• Knowledge of computing and networking hardware and peripheral equipment
• Knowledge and understanding of physical and virtualized networks
• Ability to troubleshoot computer systems and equipment problems
• Ability to install, configure and maintain personal computers, tablets, mobile phone, phone, networks, and related hardware and software
• Ability to learn and support new systems and applications
• Ability to interact tactfully and courteously with outside vendors and internal partners to establish and maintain effective working relationships
• Ability to understand and apply knowledge of network concepts, techniques, and principles
