This position is Monday through Friday, some weekends and is paid a competitive wage depending on experience. MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN POSITION

The Maintenance Technician Lead oversees and is responsible for installing, repairing and maintaining large industrial textile processing equipment, as well as facility maintenance. Tasks include startup and shut down procedures, electrical troubleshooting, boiling work, welding and cutting, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical, or other systems. Reports to Chief Engineer.

Essential Functions:

1. Install, repair and maintain large industrial processing equipment. Provide preventative and corrective maintenance of this equipment and for the facility in general.
2. Repair and maintain hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, PC, air, power.
3. Perform plumbing, 3 phase electrical equipment, carpentry, boiler repair, welding, and general facility repairs.
4. Answer and resolve daily maintenance requests in a timely fashion, so that minimal down time is experienced and operational processes are continually improved.
5. Work with all plant personnel in a cooperative and professional manner.
6. Strictly adhere to all safety rules, policies and procedures required by Shared Hospital Services.
7. Remain current on equipment and repair procedures. Properly use power and hand tools.
8. Keep accurate and timely records of maintenance performed.
9. Follow written and verbal instructions and perform other tasks as directed by supervision.
10. Leadership Skills, organization, and effectively enforces policies, rules and regulations.

Qualifications:

1. Have and maintain a valid drivers license.
2. Minimum of two years maintenance engineering experience with specific knowledge of machinery, electricity, strong in electronic trouble shooting, plumbing, hydraulics, pneumatics, welder and boiler applications.
3. Proficiency in the proper use of power and hand tools.
4. Strong electrical troubleshooting ability of 3 phase systems.
5. PLC programming and troubleshooting experience.
6. Excellent attendance record.
7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, ability to comprehend and follow direction, perform basic math, good time management skills and be a team player.
8. Strong in the use of machinery schematics and drawings.
9. Displays team leader skill set.

Education:

1. High School graduation or similar experience.
2. Qualified to hold a drivers license.

Typical Physical Activity:

1. Physical Demands/Requirements during the shift - Standing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, kneeling, reaching overhead, pushing, pulling, grasping, lifting and carrying up to 100 lbs, driving, sitting, writing, speaking and hearing.

Typical Environmental Conditions:

1. Inside and outside areas of a typical industrial laundry facility, which includes working with and around large machinery, variations in temperature, sound, orders, humidity, lint and dust, in general offices or on outside grounds.

Travel Requirements:

1. Occasional, such as to procure parts.
