The objective of this position is to supervise and coordinate the employees who are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of court costs, collections, fines, and fees between the courtroom, operations, and finance department of the Criminal Court Clerk’s Office.
Grade: 51
Salary Commensurate with Experience and Education
1. Three (3) of years of experience in an increasingly responsible administrative capacity; AND
2. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, criminal justice, education, or closely related field; OR
3. An equivalent combination of related education and/or experience.
4. PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED.
1. Works in close communication and collaboration with Courtroom Clerks, Coordinators, Finance and IT within the Criminal Court Clerk’s Office to ensure the accuracy of costs, fines and fees.
2. Supervises, removes and updates monies from cases to ensure the accuracy of customer payments.
3. Performs research on historical case balances based on offense and classification to determine costs.
4. Monitors updates to fee schedules and collection jobs; documents resolution and provides direction related to implementation and ongoing training od business processes.
5. Serves as first-line supervisor allocating staffers to test and review JIRAs.
6. Reviews and reconciles financial records with courtroom and accounting staff.
7. Monitors and resolves issues with event listing where fees are evaluates for accuracy.
8. Investigates all internal complaints with respect to cost, fines, and fees.
9. Performs other related duties as required or directed.
1. Knowledge of administrative functions, policies, and procedures of the Criminal Court Clerk’s office.
2. Ability to coordinate and direct activities of assigned personnel.
3. Ability to work with co-workers, judges and public citizens with courtesy, respect and tact.
4. Ability to issue and follow oral and written instructions.
5. Knowledge of internal costs, fines, and applicable fees.
6. General knowledge of supervision and personnel management practices.
7. Knowledge of the legal documents issued by the courts.
8. Ability to write legibly on legal documents and court files.
9. Ability to maintain an accurate system of records.
10. Must have good organizational and communication skills.
11. Computer literate with working knowledge of MS Office, Excel, Power Point, Internet and other software.
