Job Summary:
North Fork Equestrian is seeking a dedicated Farm Hand/Caretaker to lead the maintenance of a 21 acre Equestrian Facility in Riverhead, NY. The ideal candidate will assist with various tasks on the farm, including landscaping maintenance, equipment operation, facility repairs & maintenance. Ideal for a jack-of-all-trades. Full-time and Part-time available.
Duties:
- Operate and maintain farm equipment and machinery
- Perform irrigation duties to ensure proper watering of grass
- Handle heavy lifting tasks as required
- Conduct basic equipment repairs and maintenance
- Utilize hand tools for various farm activities
- Maintain cleanliness and organization around the farm
Experience:
The following skills and experience are preferred for the Farm Hand position:
- Proficiency in operating heavy equipment
- Familiarity with animal care practices and handling a plus
- Landscaping experience a must
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for farm tasks
- Experience with farm machinery and equipment repair
- Capability to handle heavy lifting requirements on the farm
- Knowledge of equine care is a plus
