Description:

Position Summary: Shepherd Electric Supply, a leading Wholesale Distributor since 1892, headquartered in Baltimore with locations in Laurel, Frederick, Washington DC and Northern Virginia, is seeking a highly motivated individual for our Outside Sales team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for growing sales in our emerging Electrical Construction customer base.

Essential Functions:

• Self-starter with a history of business development through prospecting and qualifying all potential revenue and market share opportunities.
• Thrive in a team environment, working close with Inside Sales, Project Management and internal support teams specifically
• Ability to conduct phone as well as face to face sales calls to sell Shepherd product line to existing and new customers
• Maintains customer satisfaction by assisting customers with identifying parts, providing quotes and processing orders. Electrical product knowledge, preferred
• Strong negotiation skills, while building relationships with Contractors and Vendors – must be detail oriented
• Demonstrates professional attitude, conduct and appearance
• Ability to build and maintain customer relationships through outstanding customer service
• Motivated, self-starter willing to participate in trainings to maintain and grow knowledge of Shepherd product offering
• Performs all other associated tasks assigned by Leadership team

Skills and Qualifications:

• High School diploma required; College Diploma preferred
• Prior electrical experience preferred
• Computer proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel required, Eclipse software

system for Job Management, helpful

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage and prioritize opportunities and issues
