Job SummaryThe Shipping Assistant – FFC ensures goods shipped are delivered in the most economical manner that meets the customers’ needs. They quote shipping charges as requested by CSR’s people and ensure the best possible rate is obtained for the goods being shipped. They assist in the movement of finished goods within the fulfillment facility to the customer.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Quote package charges as requested by CSR’s – ensuring the best possible rate is obtained for the goods being shipped.
- Ensure proper labels and tickets have been applied before shipping and all finished goods are shipped to the correct destination.
- Prepare tickets for closing jobs in a timely manner by adding freight charges, materials and final shipping quantities. Turn tickets into Accounts Receivable within 24 hours or less from the time of job completion.
- Provide recap of daily shipments to Fulfillment Warehouse Lead.
- May assist in tracing lost or delayed shipments, audit received shipments and initiate claims for damaged/missing goods.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Excellent verbal, written communication, organization and PC skills and attention to detail.
- Prompt and reliable attendance required.
- Technical school or college preferred.
- One-year related experience in shipping/receiving preferred.
- Knowledge in the UPS, FedEx and USPS shipping systems.
- Prolonged periods of standing
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds regularly.
- Safety toe shoes.
