Sherman Associates is currently seeking an experienced Treasury Specialist to join our team! The Treasury Specialist is responsible for managing the company’s treasury relationships as well as accumulating and compiling the data necessary to complete the daily cash settlements and manage the cash position by the Accounting Department. This role assists in bank account opening, closing and maintenance and is the key contact for resolution of bank operating issues, including Treasury systems administration. Additionally, this role will assist with administrative accounting tasks.

• Execute cash management of the company by maintaining banking relationships as well as maintaining the bank account information.
• Retrieve bank balance and transaction information using multiple banking systems.
• Maintain multiple Excel spreadsheets recording and reconciling daily cash balances, transactions and/or volume used for daily, monthly, and quarterly reporting.
• Verify and input funds transfer and ACH transactions for weekly check runs, payroll transfers, mortgages, replacement reserve, management fees, and property tax payments.
• Liaise with Accounting and other internal departments to facilitate the transfer of knowledge and informational requirements needed by the respective parties, including G/L entries.
• Prepare quarterly average daily cash balance reporting for lender covenant requirements.
• Prepare and maintain policies and standard operating procedures for ACH, positive pay and other cash management procedures.
• Interface directly with bank personnel as well as corporate and divisional personnel to resolve cash management issues and obtain authorizations as necessary.
• Provide our internal and external customers with the best customer service possible.
• Administer the purchasing card program and related internal controls.
• Assist in preparation of supporting schedules for the year-end audits and tax returns.
• Perform ad hoc duties and take on projects as assigned.

Required Experience:

• 2 years treasury, cash management, accounting, banking or finance training
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Ability to meet deadlines in a very fast paced environment including adjusting quickly to changing priorities
• Able to multi-task while setting priority, work independently and in a team setting
• Quick learner with strong analytical, verbal and written communication skills
• Must have strong experience with Microsoft Office software with advanced skills in Excel
• Must be willing to work extended hours as necessary to meet deadlines
