Durand Area Schools - website Duties/Responsibilities:

Supervise the Behavior Room/Zen Den.
Enforce and support behavior expectations per the behavior matrix
Communicate daily with teachers regarding the operation of the Zen Den
Maintain accurate records and documentation regarding behaviors and classroom postive behavior support
Log behavioral data in the SWIS database accurately and efficiently
Distribute, administer and collect assignments to and from students as needed
Return assignments to teachers as needed
Communicate with familes as needed and as descibed in the behavior matrix and in conjunction with the building principal
Assist with student assignments, assessments and academics
Work in cooperation with the building principal to ensure a successful behavior program and effcient support of classroom teachers and office staff
Work with small groups of students in the areas of math and reading, social-emotional learning and/or other areas as assigned by buiding principal
Push in to classrooms to assist teachers as needed
Attend behavioral meetings and data days as asked or assigned by building principal
Conduct/assist whole class lessons around social-emotional learning
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Minimum associates degree or 2 years of college (equal to 60 semester hours) or successful completion of the MTTC Basic Skills or WorkKeys or ETS Parapro Assessment
Show evidence of good health
Experience or training in an educational environment preferred but not required
Demonstrate ability to communicate both orally and in written form with students, parents, teaching staff and all other staff members
Possess effective organization skills
