Job Description
Intern positions at Shield Engineering Group provide college students an opportunity to gain real-world experience in a variety of land development and municipal infrastructure projects. Students will work alongside professionals which provide invaluable experiences of applying the knowledge and skills learned through education in a consulting engineering office.
Duties- Use AutoCad Civil3D software to perform engineering tasks.
Assist in initial site research and due diligence.
- Assist in the preparation of quantity take-offs, costs estimates, engineering drawings, maps and other related tasks as required to support projects.
Construction observation of land development, municipal water, sewer and stormwater projects.
- Assist in the preparation of permits for land development and municipal projects.
Other duties as assigned.
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to think critically and problem solve.
Knowledge of Civil Engineering fundamentals, surveying and drafting.
Previous Civil Engineering internship experience.
Experience with AutoCAD Civil3D and Microsoft Office Suite.
