Job Summary:

Shining Star Kids Academy is seeking a dedicated Dietary Aide to join our team. As a Dietary Aide, you will play a crucial role in contributing to the provision of nutritious meals for the children at our academy. This position requires a passion for promoting healthy eating habits and ensuring a positive dining experience for our young learners.

Key Responsibilities:

Meal Preparation:

• Assist in the preparation and serving of nutritious meals and snacks for children.
• Follow established recipes and portion sizes to ensure nutritional guidelines are met.
• Collaborate with the kitchen staff to maintain a clean and organized workspace.

Meal Planning:

• Work closely with the dietary supervisor to plan well-balanced and age-appropriate menus.
• Take into consideration dietary restrictions and special needs of individual children.

Sanitation and Safety:

• Adhere to strict hygiene and sanitation standards during food handling and preparation.
• Monitor and maintain cleanliness in the dining and kitchen areas.

Communication:

• Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, teachers, and other team members regarding menu planning and any special dietary requirements.
• Collaborate with teachers to address specific dietary needs or concerns for individual children.

Record Keeping:

• Keep accurate records of daily meals served, including portion sizes and any leftovers.
• Report any issues or concerns related to food safety and storage.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in food service, preferably in a childcare or school setting.
• Knowledge of nutrition and dietary requirements for children.
• Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in food handling or similar credentials.
• Familiarity with state and local regulations related to child nutrition.
